Great YA novel by a childhood favourite author

"Thank you so much to Tandem Global collective, Penguin Teen Ca and Tundra Books for sending me a copy of this book to read and review on this read along. When I saw the name Kenneth Oppel I about screamed because I haven’t read anything by him since I was a kid when I read Silverwing haha. And when I saw this was dystopian I knew I needed it in my life. This was a interesting read for me, our main characters family went to their summer cottage and they all wake up under a dome, which reminds me of Under the Dome (even though I’ve never read it ahha). I liked that thought this story we get introduced to more characters and how different peoples ideas can influence how you think. I also liked that we never really know who is behind the some, is it aliens or have they been kidnapped by the government? And we get a glimpse but there’s still not clear cut answer. The story also makes the reader think if they never give up trying to escape or just give up and live their lives. I enjoyed the variety of characters we meet, kids and adults, stable and not stable also unlikeable with maybe some redeeming qualities. I am still suspicious about our main character Zay’s little brother who was born in the dome. Is he human? Is he a changing? We never find out, he’s just very advanced for his age. I would recommend this book to those who don’t mind a young adult book, not as detailed but still entertaining and interesting."
