F. Necati Catbas is a professor, researcher, mentor, and entrepreneur in civil engineering, focusing on bridges and infrastructure systems. A professor at UCF, he has received several awards and recognition for his contributions and is listed among the top 2% of civil engineers worldwide. He founded the CITRS center to advance smart and resilient infrastructure with particular emphasis on bridges. With over 120+ journal papers (11,500+ citations) and broad national and international collaborations, Dr. Catbas works to integrate innovative sensing, AI, and monitoring technologies for safer, more efficient, and sustainable civil infrastructure.

Dan M. Frangopol is the inaugural holder of the Fazlur R. Khan Endowed Chair of Structural Engineering and Architecture at Lehigh University. He is recognized as a pioneer in the field of life-cycle engineering of civil and marine structures under various types of hazards. Dr. Frangopol is the Founding President of theInternational Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety(IABMAS) and theInternational Association for Life-Cycle Civil Engineering(IALCCE). He is the Founding Editor ofStructure and Infrastructure Engineering. Dr. Frangopol is the recipient of several honors and awards from ASCE, IABSE, IASSAR, ISHMII, SAE and other professional organizations. He holds 4 honorary doctorates and 14 honorary professorships from major universities. In 2023 ASCE established the Dan M, Frangopol Medal for Life-Cycle Engineering of Civil Structures. Dr. Frangopol is an Elected Member of the US National Academy of Construction, and a foreign member of the Canadian, Japan and Mexican Academies of Engineering, Academia Europaea (London), Royal Academy of Belgium, Romanian Academy, Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences, and a Distinguished Member of ASCE.
