Burned out and frustrated with his stale academic lifestyle, Mike Curd abandons Yale University to take a road trip and write the "Great American Novel". In Houston, Texas Mike meets a foul-mouthed, fast-talking prostitute named Candi. And it doesn't take Candi long to make Mike a strange offer... Candi confesses to Mike that she knows where to find buried treasure. And if he'll agree to drive her there to dig it up, she'll provide him with plenty of adventures along the way. But the catch is- Candi refuses to tell Mike where they're going. All she'll say is that they're headed to "Nowhere Special". Despite his misgivings about Candi's mysterious proposal, Mike is desperate for stories to put in his novel. So, enticed by Candi's sultry charisma and her promise of adventure, Mike agrees to drive her. And so together they embark on a quixotic journey through the Texas countryside, fraught with unforeseen dangers and a little bit of dumb luck...
