Grit McCreath has been an educator, teacher, teacher-librarian, and administrator for over 30 years in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Alberta. She has taught all grades from kindergarten to Grade 12 in both public and private schools. For the last twenty years she has served her university as a member of the University of Saskatchewan's Senate, Board of Governors, its first Honorary Ambassador and most recently serving two terms as the Chancellor. Scott McCreath retired in 2024 from a 55-year career in the financial service business. He has served on the Board of the Investment Dealers Association, was chairman of the Alberta Stock Exchange, and was the recipient of numerous corporate and industry awards. Raised and educated in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he left the province in 1970 but never forgot his roots.

Through their family foundation, he and his wife Grit support the environment, the arts, education, and their community. Scott is an executive in residence at the University of Saskatchewan Edwards School of Business, on the Dean's Advisory Board, and a member of the Dean's Circle.
