Fleischer began in 1972 as a civilian employee of the National People''s Army at the Army Museum of the GDR. He studied history in the GDR and graduated with the academic degree "Diplom-Historiker". After reunification, Fleischer was taken over by the German Armed Forces as a civil servant of the higher service special field and currently leads the official title of scientific superintendent and is a guest lecturer for historical ordnance at the Dresden Sprengschule. Fleischer was a member of the Historical Commission of the City of Dresden for the air raids on Dresden between 13 and 15 February 1945. In public criticism Fleischer came after the publication of the book Saxony 1945 in NPD''s own publishing house German voice and an interview in the classified as a right-wing extremist German military magazine.
