The head and shoulders of a young peasant girl, the face in three-quarter view to the right. Over a chemise of white linen she wears a bodice of lilac, and a blue scarf is thrown over her shoulders, leaving her throat and neck bare. Her fair hair is gathered at the back of her head, and a number of stray ring lets cluster round her ears and over her brow.
