Chainsaw Man Review

"I love all of Fujimoto's work, he's like top 3 mangakas honestly. Fire punch, goodbye eri, and look back were all wonderful. So, I obviously liked Chainsaw Man too, I read it online first and decided to buy a volume to decorate my shelf and support the author. Denji is such a cool main character, I hate that he's considered just a """"Gooner"""" character. I like that he doesn’t want to be the strongest or save the world, he just wants a normal life with good food, a bed, and whatever. That made me like him right away, because his goals actually feel real. The action scenes were my favorite part. The way Denji transforms into Chainsaw Man with the chainsaws coming out of his arms and head is so sick. The fights are bloody and over-the-top, but that just makes them more exciting to read. I also thought Pochita was awesome it’s cute, but then it’s also super important to the story. What I liked too was the mix of emotions. It can be funny, sad, and intense all in the same volume. The ending left me wanting to see what happens next, especially with Denji’s new life starting. Overall, I’d say Volume 1 is amazing and got me hooked right away. The mix of action, dark themes, and Denji’s personality makes it different from other manga I’ve read, and I'll definitely buy more to keep Fujimoto's bills paid. (Lowkey I suck at writing)"

Tatsuki Fujimoto won Honorable Mention in the November 2013 Shueisha Crown Newcomers’ Awards for his debut one-shot story Love is Blind. His first series Fire Punch ran for eight volumes. Chainsaw Man began serialization in 2018 in Weekly Shonen Jump.
