Morgan Dalphinis holds a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies University of London, UK, onAfrican Language Influences in Creoles Lexically Based on Portuguese, English and French, a BA hons in Linguistics and an African Language (Hausa), and a MBA and PGCE (English as a Second Language and French). His publications includeCaribbean and African LanguagesandHistory and Language in St Lucia 1654-1915.

Duane Edwards is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Guyana. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill and has lectured in its Department of Government, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology. He also holds a B. Soc. Sc. in Sociology from the University of Guyana. His research interests include ethnic dynamics in ethnically plural societies, social inequalities, migration, and Caribbean philosophical and political thought.

Michael M. Kretzer isan Andrew W Mellon Fellow at the University of Western Cape, South Africa. He researches education systems and language policies in Sub-Saharan Africa, environmental education, Linguistic Landscapes (LL) and health crisis communication. He has published several book chapters and articles, including for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics, the International Journal on Multilingualism, European Journal of Language Policy and the South African Geographical Journal. He is the chief editor of the Handbooks of Language Policies in Africa (HLPA) book series (2022).

Violet Cuffy was a much loved and respected Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Events Management, PhD, MSc, AICB, BEd and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She sadly died in December 2021.
