The genius of Murakami!

"Murakami at his best. A really good mind bending magical fictionalism from Murakami and undoubtedly one of his best if not the best."

Ismol42 (5/5)

Very Good Book

"great blend of sci fi, fantasy, and lit fic. the way the stories start to overlap over time is really strong, and the ending strikes the perfect amount of amiguity"

What Reboots are Grasping For (can be found in retranslation)

"Returning to a new version of one of my old favourites has been awesome. The enhancements are subtle in most ways but the obvious ones (INKlings becoming the less cutesy murks) make it feel more like a serious novel than a noir parody."

J U. (5/5)

Probably my favourite Murakami book

"Hard-boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World is probably my favourite Murakami book, and that is saying a lot for someone who has read almost all of his work (big Haruki fanboy over here haha). In typical Murakami fashion, the protagonist is an unremarkable mid-thirties divorced man who loves music, beer, baseball and Italian food. He also has a special talent that involves shuffling data between his left and right brain. It reads a bit like a mystery novel, in that we're led to believe there are going to be answers to certain questions like: what's the deal with the unicorn skulls? The 'INKlings'? The ability to 'turn up and down' the sound of a river? Certainly bizarre, but leave it up to Murakami to pull you into this world and let you interpret these things for yourself."

Duncan (5/5)

Stockholm Syndrome

"Best acid trip of my life. Murakami is ahead of his time and the book itself is a good read. Just do not bother trying to analyze it for educational purposes."

Yantheman (5/5)

Murakami is wild!

"Murakami is some kind of magician when it comes to storytelling, this one is a rollercoaster!"

Jeff (5/5)

Curious and Beautiful

"This is the first of Haruki Murakami's novels that I have read and will not be the last. It is beautifully written, I could not put it down."

HollieSebastian (5/5)

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

"- Looks like: Abstract - Sounds like: Waterfall then nothing - Tastes like: Alcohol - Smells like: Unknown - Feels like: Conspiracy wonderland"

Kaitlin (3/5)

Must read

"This is the first Murakami book I read and since then, I've read almost every book of his. This book is one of my favorites, and a great introduction to ""magical realism"""

Faith (5/5)

One of my favourite books ever.

"5/5. I loved it. #plumreview"
