Excerpt from Eulogy Upon William Wirt
Called as you were, Sir, to the performance of this interesting duty, on the 20th instant, at the special request of the Washington Lyceum, we beg leave to tender you our thanks, and the thanks of those whom we represent, for the prompt and courteous manner in which this duty was perforated; and for the chaste and excellent production then pronounced, which we consider alike the offspring of talent and benevolence - teeming with allusions to the illustrious deceased, not less classical than just.
