A great dragon story

"I read this because someone said that fourth wing was a ripoff of this book. I think they are completely different. I love the struggles of the main characters. I think it’s an interesting take on dragons because they grow up with the riders so in this book they are young and no bigger then horses."

Hidden Gem

"I feel like this book is not even close to as popular as it should be. It has an awesome story, with funny and interesting characters that is great to read. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down."

Barb (5/5)

Dragon fantasy at it's best

"Super enjoyable story, beautiful book. Wish they'd kept the art consistent across all three hardcovers but alas. For anyone that read fourth wing and wanted more politics and more world building (and better editing), this would be a good choice"

Kat W. (5/5)

Less dragons.

"Political aspect of the book was good, was easy to read. BUT there wasnt much dragons."

Bobbie (3/5)

OK. Not worth continuing series.

"It’s OK. Doesn’t go into much detail of what the characters are doing, you never hear the so-called amazing speeches, what made everyone love the MMC, what regular training manoeuvres or patrols are, etc. You’re told someone is amazing, not shown in a way that you come to the conclusion yourself. It’s political, but you only get the gist of the world to see who’s wrong or right, who’s morally grey, since it never goes into detail of what the characters are learning about, or the propaganda they’re spreading. You don’t get a proper feel for the different districts, only understand there’s different uses and a hierarchy within them, despite the MCs’ continued interactions with them. Not bad, but by no means amazing, nor worth continuing reading the series. I don’t think you quite get to know the characters enough to enjoy why they tick, probably because the whole book is written like it’s going through the motions, summarizing it instead of telling it in full. Kinda feels like an English school project."
