How to be Eaten

"Love the cover of the book and name. Thats what drew me in, half way through the book and so far it has not disappointed me."

Manda (4/5)

It’s okay.

"The idea is great however the first story on Blue Beard wasn’t that exciting. I wish they had started with a more fun and unique story to capture my attention and fly through the pages. I’ve only read half so far but it’s felt a bit clunky and I’ve had to force myself to keep reading. Still, I like the unique idea of it and plan to finish it."

SSVB (3/5)

For an older reader

"This was too old for me and should be geared towards adults"

Addi (3/5)

"Its fun nothing life changing but fun and a little raunchy i would say"

Twisted Fairytale

"This is a bizarre twist to the fairytale! Highly recommend reading but do not expect the obvious"

Angela H. (4/5)

Love it!

"Read the whole thing in one sitting. Then I read it again. Endings almost never shock me but holy whoa"

Courtney (5/5)

Fairytales in New York

"This book was absolutely brilliant - such a unique perspective. Thought provoking concepts intertwined with a modern take on fairytale heroines. A strong recommend to anyone!"

Better than what I expected!

"Not what I expected, but pleasantly surprised! It was fun trying to figure out what fictional character the author was writing about. Easy read, glad I picked it up."

“Adelmann spins gold…weaving together two high-concept premises into one coherent and complex narrative that pulls off several impressive tricks along the way…The worldbuilding is immersive and original, and she doesn’t reimagine the fairytales she pulls from so much as implode them…The question of what happens to the fairytale characters after the fairytale ends? could easily be taken in a run-of-the-mill direction, but Adelmann answers it in a way that feels genuinely fresh, thrilling, and even self-referential,  baking into the novel’s premise the very idea that stories, no matter how often they’re told and retold, can always be broken apart and fashioned into something new.”
