Wendy Ewald (b. 1951) has collaborated with children and families around the world for over fifty years, encouraging them to use cameras to record themselves, their communities, and their fantasies and dreams. In blurring the distinction of individual authorship and intention, Ewald creates opportunities to look at the meaning and use of photographic images in our lives. Ewald has received many honours and grants including from the Rauschenberg Foundation and a MacArthur Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited extensively including solo exhibitions at the International Center of Photography, New York, and the Corcoran Gallery, Washington DC. She has authored numerous books including This is Where I Live (MACK, 2015), which maps Israel/Palestine through different communities.
