Disappointed in box set condition

"Bought as christmas gift and corner of outer box was damage and the actual box set wrapping was ripped. . . thought buying from indigo directly would be better (even though it was more expensive). ."

Best gift

"A friend gave me this collection of Dickens as a birthday gift and I thoroughly enjoyed every volume. The books are beautiful in all their details and I recommend anyone who enjoys the classics to start with this set. Dickens is a wonderful author who describes the times in which he lives in vivid detail, makes you feel as if you are there with his characters."

"i bought this two years ago and theyre still intact! only thing is that the case is not solid and curves on the sides."

Winnie (4/5)

Great buy but only for certain people

"The books are beautifully bound but if you're not an avid book collector then it's not really the purchase for you. If you're just looking to read the books then I suggest there are other paperbacks that cost less"

Anon (4/5)

"Can't wait for the next one."

Charles Dickens was born on 7 February 1812. He began Oliver Twist in 1837, followed by Nicholas Nickleby (1838) and The Old Curiosity Shop (1840-41). A Christmas Carol, appeared in 1843, David Copperfield in 1850. In later works, such as Bleak House (1853) and Little Dorrit (1857), Dickens's social criticism became more radical and his comedy more savage. He published Hard Times in 1854, A Tale of Two Cities in 1859 and Great Expectations in 1860. His last novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, was never completed and he died on 9 June 1870.
