Mr. Hall has always taken a deep interest in American history, especially that connected with the territory and stat-e of Vermont. He delivered the first annual address that was made before the Ver mont Historical Society; and for six years from 1859 was its pres'i dent, and has since been active in the preparation and arrangement of the materials for the two published volumes of its collections, and in otherwise promoting its usefulness and success.
