“Here are the thrills, grandeur, and unabashed fun of the Greek myths, stylishly retold by Stephen Fry. The legendary writer, actor, and comedian breathes life into ancient tales, from Pandora’s box to Prometheus’s fire, and transforms the adventures of Zeus and the Olympians into emotionally resonant and deeply funny stories, without losing any of their original wonder. Classical artwork inspired by the myths and learned notes from the author offer rich cultural context.” - Thought Catalog

A beautiful read

"This book is wonderful. I listened to the audio version first, which is narrated by the author, and I had to get a copy of the book. It is poignant and cleverly comedic at all the right moments. It is wonderful storytelling and has made me a lover of Greek mythology."

A not boring Greek myth book

"Highly entertaining and not super stuffy. He does a really good job of telling the stories and explaining how they became our modern English words. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to know the Greek myths!"

Devon (5/5)

Incredible Retelling for non-history buffs

"A fascinating re-telling of classic Greek myths and legends! Definitely worth it even if you have no background in classical mythology. I will definitely be reading Heroes next! If you are lucky enough to get an audio copy they are narrated by Stephen Fry himself and fabulously well done!"

Greek Mythology can be for everyone

"Stephen Fry has a wonderful way with words, it is as though he is conversing with the reader. He brings the characters to life, with all their flaws and strengths, all the while making the reader aware that whether God or mere mortal, we are one and all the same."

Anne F. (5/5)

Walk around with Stephen

"I could hear his voice in every passage. It was as if we were walking around Greece and he was telling me about the story of every statue or painting we passed. _x000D_ _x000D_ His stories are easy to follow and bring a fresh, captivating rendition to Greek mythology. _x000D_ _x000D_ The book itself is well laid out, large margins, a pleasing font, organized headings and quality paper make it a treasure to read. The book is filled with full colour photos of statues and painting that bring the stories to life. _x000D_ _x000D_ Stephen Fry is on point with this book."
