Romantic Suspense Perfection

"Yet another fantastic hit from K. A. Tucker. I've enjoyed all of the books I've read by her so far and she's proven herself to be a master of all genres with this one. North Country has all the gorgeous Canadaian views and landscapes we've come to love from Tucker, along with the woven heartbreak and relationship plot lines that are so easy to fall for. North Country also has another added element of a bit of a mystery/romantic suspense aspect woven throughout. A second chance romance that isn't cheesy or predictable, following characters that are a little older and more experienced which was an added bonus. All of the characters were so well written it felt like old friends. Thanks To Valentine PR for my digital ARC in return for an for an honest review, as well as LIBRO for my audiobook ARC."

Great!

"I loved this book so much! I grew up in the country outside of Kingston area and while we’re pretty far from the area this is set in, it still resonates. The area farmers market where everyone knows everyone, the neighbour’s rink that is way cooler than anyone else’s, the local bar, even Benny the Hulk. This whole story felt like reading about home. There’s something Tucker does better than most, and that’s her ability to make you feel connected to her characters. So when Logan comes home, you’re with Emery as she works through her feelings. Logan’s story is tragic and yet so realistic it’s kind of scary. Wrong place, wrong crowd and your life is never the same. Add in the mystery of a missing girl and a town who only sees one possible person who could have done it, I just loved it all. I could easily see this as a movie someday."

Be sure to check this out!

"If your a fan romance suspense and second chances then look no further! I anticipated loving this and it was more of an enjoyable like to be upfront. Believe me when I say there is still much to enjoy in North Country. Like the smalltown vibes. The bison farm setting. The Canadian connection. The family dynamics. The eventual mystery and suspense-which is ultimately what kept me turning the pages even if I knew early on who did it. What can I say? I'm a good guesser. But what I felt like took a bit of a back seat unfortunately was the romance for me. I really enjoyed the mc's, don't get me wrong. I just wanted a little more somehow. I do really hope this is the set up of an all new series because I'd love to see stories from some of the side characters in the future!"

A Book I Didn’t Know I Needed

"I’ve been in such a book reading slump this year. I’ve listened to a couple of audiobooks but this is the first book I’ve physically read so far this year It’s hard to believe you can relate to two completely different characters but I can. . after losing both of my parents in the past five years. I can relate to Emery having lost hers and the feelings that come with those losses. I can also relate to Logan when he returns home. I moved to a different city for school, created a life there and going home for a few days felt weird, like I really didn’t belong. Everything looked the same but I felt like an outsider looking in to their lives that had moved on without be being a part of it Loved this story and the suspense, there were so many different feels for me and brought up a lot of my own memories from the past . I love KA’s writing and always look forward to the next one"

A beautiful second chance romantic suspense

"4. 5 stars!!!!! This was such a beautifully written second-chance romance with just the right touch of forbidden love that was just incredibly easy to sink into. I especially loved the vulnerability of these characters. There’s a quiet softness to the storytelling that kept me completely invested from beginning to end. A first love torn apart by tragedy, reunited twenty years later, with the possibility of building something stronger the second time around💖 The longing, the desire, and the undeniable attraction between Emery and Logan were so satisfyingly woven into the story. Every interaction carried years of history, making their connection feel both heartfelt and inevitable. One of my favourite aspects was reading about characters in their late 30s. Their life experiences, regrets, and responsibilities shaped every decision they made, making their actions feel authentic and adding so much emotional depth to the story. I was completely pulled into the mystery and suspense, and loved how it was intricately woven into the romance. It kept me turning the pages, eager to see how everything would unfold. And it’s set in northern Ontario 🇨🇦🍁"
