A classic

"This is standard reading in the field of visual culture and it still holds up. While some of the arguments are dated and don't play so well in the modern culture of intense, constant visually, there is still something to mine from her thoughts on photography and they way it captures a moment. Great for all those who want to think deeply about photography and visually."

Definitely a must-read if you're into photography or philosophy!

"This book really made me think differently about photos. The book is a collection of essays that explores how photography shapes the way we see the world. Sontag dives into the idea of whether taking pictures helps us understand reality or distances us from it. She also talks about how photography plays a big role in consumer culture and affects how we remember things. It’s a thought-provoking read, and even though it’s a bit dense at times, I found it worth the effort."
