Die vorliegende Schilderung sucht im ersten B ndchen eine all gemeine bersicht von Osteuropa, im zweiten eine Darstellung der einzelnen Landschaften zu geben. Das ehemalige russische Polen, das man uneingeschr nkt als einen Teil Mitteleuropas an sehen mu , scheidet ebenso aus wie Finnland, das nur seiner geographischen Lage, nicht aber seinem Aufbau und seiner Kultur entwicklung nach einen Teil Osteuropas bildet. Die baltischen Lande und Litauen, die an sich wohl Teile Osteuropas sind, kom1i1en aus rein u eren Gr nden an anderer Stelle zur Behandlung.
