History comes alive through the voices of India's young storytellers. "Our Living Heritage: Essays by Young India" brings together a selection of the best essays from over 1,500 entries received across 21 states.
Organized by the Foundation for Indian Historical and Cultural Research (FIHCR), under the guidance of Dr Vikram Sampath, this initiative is part of the YUVA programme to make history meaningful beyond the classroom.
From the splendour of monuments like the Breehadesvara and Dharasuram temples, to the courage of unsung freedom fighters such as Khudiram Bose and Jatin Bagha, to the brilliance of ancient innovations like the Sushruta Samhita, these essays reveal how deeply students connect with their heritage. Imaginative, thoughtful, and well-researched, their work offers fresh perspectives on India's cultural and historical legacy.
This anthology is both a celebration of young talent and a testament to the enduring power of history to inspire new generations.
