Best friends have one week in paradise to fix their friendship or fall apart in this heart-stopping, utterly romantic new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After and One Golden Summer.
Frankie and George have been best friends since they were eight years old. Both passionate, impulsive, and headstrong—they’ve always clashed... and come back together. Until now. It’s the eve of Frankie’s wedding weekend, and she doesn’t know where they stand or even if George will show up as her best man.
Then, at the start of the festivities, in walks George. For one glorious evening, surrounded by her loved ones, Frankie’s life is finally perfect. But it all comes crashing down when her fiancé dumps her the next morning, leaving only a note as an explanation.
Crushed and confused, Frankie returns to her family’s home to wallow. But George has a different idea and a plan for healing Frankie’s broken heart. He wants her to go on her honeymoon. With him. For one week, to the lush rainforests and misty beaches of Tofino.
Frankie agrees, seeing the trip for what it really is: one last chance to repair their friendship. Even if it means unearthing secrets and long buried feelings neither knows how to handle. Even if it means falling apart for good.

"This was an absolutely beautiful book, and I LOVED how the author included information about right whales and the summer Canada burned. It’s so important to talk about, and she added it to the story seamlessly."

Loved every page of it!
"If you're looking for a cozy friends to lover romance then this one's for you. I couldn't put it down! Carley's attention to detail is like none other as the story gives off such a warm, cuddle under a blanket as the rain trickles down your window, vibe. You'll be laughing and tearing up at this heartwarming story. 10/10 recommend!"

Another Beautiful Friends to Lovers Story
"Another lovely story from Carley Fortune. It was similar to Every Summer After in that it was about lifelong best friends navigating the progression of their relationship from friendship to romance. I will say that Every Summer After is still my favorite of her books, but this one was also amazing. She has a gift for being able to place her reader into the setting and make them feel as though they are there. I live in British Columbia and have visited Tofino, and while reading the book, I felt like I was right back there. Frankie and George's devotion to one another is truly beautiful, and you can't help but want them to end up together right from the beginning. The story is masterfully told, and the fact that it is told only from Frankie's POV is important to the narrative, which the reader will discover later in the book. It would ruin some things if George's perspective had been included."

Friends-to-lovers, perfect summer romance!
"Friends to lovers, Canadian places, food, and whales: this book had it all! I absolutely loooved Carly Fortune’s newest book, that will be available later this May! Frankie has it all: the night before her wedding she is surrounded by all of her loved ones and is looking forward to starting her new adventure with Nate the next day. But when she wakes up the next day and finds a note on her pillow from Nate, telling her he can’t marry her, her whole world as she knows it falls apart. George, her best childhood friend, joins her on what was supposed to be her honeymoon and step by step, day by day, he helps put all of her broken pieces together. And somewhere along the lines, Frankie and George find their way back to each other too. This book is absolutely swoon worth and a perfect fit for every romance reader! Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the eARC!"

Friends to lovers, banter heart. A must read!
"4. 25 stars - Canadian author Carley Fortune, known for her romance novels that celebrate beautiful parts of Canada, has set this latest book in stunning Tofino, British Columbia (Heads up Tofino!! Prepare for the clamouring of many romance lovin' vacationers to visit you! Just ask PEI. #iykyk) Our Perfect Storm is a story about complicated family dynamics centred around BFFs since childhood, George and Frankie. George gives off Clark Kent vibes - hot, strong, and sensitive - complimenting the more immature and frenetic nature of Frankie. This book grabbed me from the start and is the kind of story that you can sink into. It balances complex family issues, atmospheric descriptions that set the reader in place and its banter is perfection! It also has one of my all-time favourite tropes - Friends to Lovers! There's just something about the bond between friends and that awkward and thrilling jump into romance that gets me every time - perhaps it's because my husband and I were friends for years before adding romance into the mix. I really enjoyed this book but had a wee beef or two: - miscommunication trope (but it wasn't too bad) - romance happened at a breakneck pace (1 week) - the second half wasn't as strong as the first (I missed the amazing secondary cast who added depth and humour) - the ending felt a bit rushed With its similar vibes, this would be a great pick if you loved Emily Henry's People We Meet On Vacation. It's a great summer romance set in beautiful B. C and I hope it's on YOUR summer TBR!"

Beautiful Book inside and out
"🌊📚 Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune is everything I’ve come to expect from Carley Fortune and if you haven’t picked up one of her books yet… what are you waiting for? Her stories always make me want to pack a bag and travel to wherever the setting is — and now apparently I need to visit Tofino immediately. 🌧️🌊 This book gives you: ✨ Best friends to lovers ✨ Close proximity ✨ One bed ✨ Emotional yearning that HURTS Even though the story is only told through Frankie’s POV, you can feel how absolutely tortured the MMC is the entire time. There were moments where Frankie’s blindness had me wanting to shake her, but it made the payoff at the end SO worth it. Get this book. Love this book. And somebody please turn this into a movie adaptation already because I need to see this story come alive on screen. 🎬💙 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️"

Perfect summer romance book
"I took my time reading this one. Making space to really feel everything, sit with the revelations, and reflect on the emotions it brought out. Essentially this book melted my heart, broke my heart, and healed it. It went so much deeper than I expected, and I loved every page, every chapter, every moment. 💜 At its core, both Frankie and George are dealing with childhood wounds, and that’s what makes their friendship feel so deeply rooted and intimate. They both know crossing the line into something more could risk the one relationship they can’t afford to lose. Even though they’ve loved each other forever, the fear of losing their friendship and possibly each other entirely keeps them holding back. Oh the descriptions of Tofino, Ucluelet within Vancouver Island were absolutely mesmerizing and brought back so many memories from when I traveled there myself. The setting felt vivid and atmospheric. And Carley Fortune’s writing, as always, completely brought the entire reading experience to life. I also loved the balance between the lighthearted banter and warmth alongside such deep emotional vulnerability. This story explores abandonment, fear, healing, and the journey of finally allowing yourself to accept love and express what you truly want. The emotional tension, the yearning, and the quiet restraint made this story ache in the best way 💔💜 Anyone who has experienced abandonment or struggles with vulnerability will likely connect deeply with Frankie and George’s journey. Their story felt so real and emotional to me. 💫"

One of my favs of the year!!
"Ok first of all this edition is STUNNING! The photos do not do it justice!! I loved Our Perfect Storm. Carley’s books all have so much HEART. Every single book Carley writes makes me FEEL so many things - she’s truly an artist with words! Frankie and George have been best friends for most of their lives, but there’s been more distance lately. When Frankie’s fiancé dumps her on the day of their wedding via a note, George puts his life on hold to take Frankie on what would have been her honeymoon in Tofino, BC. Our Perfect Storm is a single POV, told from the perspective of Francesca (Frankie). Carley uses her signature flashbacks/dual timeline method to tell the story of Frankie and George’s childhood all the way to now, which I felt made the emotional impact of the story hit even harder. Childhood friends to lovers isn’t always my favourite trope, but Frankie and George were so endearing and messy and real that I felt immediately invested. The visual Carley painted of Tofino was incredible, and I learned so much about this magical part of Canada that I’ve never been to. Overall, for me, Our Perfect Storm was another great romance that I gobbled up!"
