Ron Lawruk was born in Ottawa and graduated from St. Patrick''s College. Over his 32-year career he wrote intelligence reports and papers for international conferences and also spent three years as the Assistant Canadian Liaison Officer at the U.S. National Security Agency in Maryland. His first fiction storybook for children, A Bark is Worse Than a Bite, was published in 2007, followed by a series of non-fiction short stories, A Funny Thing Happened on my Way to Puberty, released in 2008. His first novel, written in the late 1980s, A Spy Too Close, was released in 2008. Lawruk used his knowledge of the Soviet intelligence community to develop a plot involving a female Russian spy who infiltrated the White House, a fictitious Canadian Security and Intelligence Service officer, and an FBI Agent. This book evolved into a trilogy; Alliance of Terror, also written in the 1980s and remarkably paralleling the 9/11 attack on New York, was released in 2009. His third book, If Words Could Kill, centres around a CIA plot to eliminate foreign press members opposed to President Obama. In 2010 he released a short story collection, Murder in the Resort, and in 2011 he published For Love and Country, A Canadian Soldiers Story, a biography about a cousin who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Ron enjoys golf, traveling, movies, Texas Hold''em and dancing....
