Format: Paperback

A very well written book detailing the journey of a black man who discovered his family heritage and immersed himself in his research to document his ancestors service in the Confederacy during the War Between the States. Definitely an eye opener for those unaware that such men existed in our American history. Bravo to the writer!

A different version of history

I met Mr Arnold at a gun show a couple years ago. He was a very interesting fellow to talk to and very proud of his ancestors association with the Confederacy.....the history we are taught is not always the complete truth. Mr Arnold's research has shined a light on a portion of history that has been kept in the dark. He has proof that there is a different side to the "political correct" version.

Al,

I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Military show in Memphis in March.

I purchased the extended edition from you and looked forward to reading it.

What I was not expecting, even though you hooked me right out of the gate, was the magnitude of emotions I went through while reading the book.

This isn't a fictional novel. It's a straightforward story about your great great grandfather and what I was to see was your take on...life, the world around us today, and history. My emotions and reactions ranged from angeer, to laughter, to astonishment, to despair, to inspired, and... at one point...I even found myself crying.
