Reviews

Rogers v. Rogers is a great biographical chronology of business, politics and family dynamics within and surrounding the Rogers family and company. Great read and heavily recommended.

"Alexandra Posadski effortless transports you into corporate board rooms and grand estates of Canada's wealthiest families to show readers the world of the Canadian telecom industry, also showcasing its heavy hitters without sacrificing us to boring explainations and just shows us the necessary things to keep us in the loop when keeping up with the Rogers family dynasty and its telecom company."

Alfredo (5/5)

Well worth the read

"I’ve been dying to read this book and finally purchased it. Really well written, engaging and giving such a rich sense of the characters."

Michelle Y. (5/5)

Succession-esque

"If you enjoy riveting power struggles, this is the book for you."

Trevor (5/5)

JUICY

"As a Canadian especially, an obvious must read! This is very different from my typical murder mystery, but the drama, the juice, and the education I didn’t know I needed was so interesting and refreshing! Glad I stepped out the box on this one."

JCM. (5/5)

Spell binding read -

"As a long time Rogers employee (now retired) I found this account of the battle for control spell binding. Some of the players I know - so it was interesting to get the deep dive into what was happening with the board at a level very few of us are ever privy to. The book read like a Shakespearean drama - complete with all the back-stabbing tactics."

Mona F. (5/5)

Sneaking a Peak at the Ultra Rich.

"Sad look into the private lives of a ""Too Wealthy Family"". Not going to make Share Holders feel better about the Company, but reality of it is far more common in Corp. World than generally credited."

Todd (5/5)

Must read

"Must read - super interesting and intriguing story."

Lana (5/5)

Family battles at their best

"Internal family squabbles amongst the 2nd generations never cease to amaze Although this one is not nearly as tragic as the Eaton clan in Canadian history it leaves you with the impression more is yet to come in Rogers world."

JSHA (4/5)

What really happened?

"The basics of a tough family drama presented in a fairly neutral way. Important Canadian business history."

Waverly (4/5)

Highly recommended for those interested in Canadian business history.

"Great book on the background of a Canadian business giant Rogers. During my uni days, we pitched RCI. B for a stock pitch and familiarized ourselves deeply with the company. This book uncovers far more insights that I had not known about. Would recommend"

“Posadzki has written an incisive and compelling melodrama—and an industry primer that ought to be read by anyone who wonders just how Canada’s telecommunications industry works—or doesn’t—and how Canadian public policy and federalism conditions it. From the scourge of dual class shares to regulatory review to board struggles to how physical networks work and beyond, the book moves seamlessly between technical, business, legal and interpersonal details while remaining interesting, informative and accessible. That’s an achievement. . . . [Rogers v. Rogers] will remain a must-read.”
Globe and Mail

Rogers v. Rogers is a fascinating deep dive into one of Canada’s most influential business families, describing in vivid detail the power struggle that tore it apart. From an infamous ‘butt dial’ to biting social media outbursts, Posadzki’s energetic reporting takes you into the boardrooms, courtrooms and living rooms where family members and their courtiers engaged in high-stakes combat.”
