Gerald Hankins is a Canmore author who specializes in the biographies of extraordinary people whose achievements have not always gained public recognition. Robert Steadward, O.C., LL.D. (Hons), is Past and Founding President of the International Paralympic Committee and Founder and CEO of The Steadward Centre, a multi-disability fitness, research, and lifestyle facility at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, where he is Professor Emeritus. A world leader in disability sport, author, teacher, and scientist, Robert Steadward has been recognized by universities in Alberta, Oregon, and Belgium for his work in adapted physical activity. Garry D. Wheeler is an exercise physiologist, registered psychologist, teacher, and lecturer, now retired. Previously, he was Executive Director at The Steadward Centre at the University of Alberta; President of the Alberta and NWT Division of the MS Society of Canada; and a member of the International Paralympic Committee, Sport Science Committee. He lives in Osoyoos, BC.
"This is a small book but one packed with thought - why life is worth living and what we can do with whatever time is left. As the title declares, it's not an amazing story as much as a story of the amazing Gary McPherson." Jerry Todd-Jenkins, Canada Post (UK)
