Sri Lanka is a country where stories hunt for you
It's a rumour.
At least, that's what I was told by a man at a roadside kadé who claimed to have played cricket with ghosts and dated a woman who later became President. The island doesn't always make sense. Its timelines twist, its truths wobble, and its stories — well, they multiply faster than potholes in monsoon season.
This book is a collection of those stories — surreal, satirical, possibly slanderous. But under the absurdity lies something very real: a land still unpacking its colonial hangover, wrestling its political contradictions, and trying to keep dancing to baila through blackout after blackout.
