An international cast of sophisticates on safari in South Africa are harassed by a killer lion – and by a human killer – in the last days of Mandela. Two Americans visit an African wildlife reserve run by a German family. A mysterious curfew restricts their movements, but guided daily forays into the Lowveld and liberating Happy Hours allow new relationships to form and to develop – and to cause old resentments to resurface and to fester, leading to murder.
