Praise for See You at the Finish Line

See You at the Finish Line sparkles with romantic tension and humor. Somehow managing to be both hopeful and wry, this book is opposites-attract at its most rewarding. One of the best romances I’ve read in a long, long time!” —Cara Bastone, national bestselling author of Promise Me Sunshine

See You at the Finish Line is the kind of sporty romance that will leave readers swooning. As Hammett’s characters test the romantic waters with one another, the ‘will they or won’t they’ vibes make the book impossible to put down. Sexy, surprising and sharp-witted in all the best ways. Once you cross the finish line, you might just be tempted to start all over again.” —Chad Beguelin, author of Showmance

“Filled to the brim with smart wit and delicious tension, See You at the Finish Line is a must read!” —Hannah Bonam-Young, USA Today bestselling author of Out on a Limb

“A fast, fun and cinematic crowd-pleaser that had me smiling—and my heart racing—until the very last sentence!” —Cale Dietrich, internationally bestselling author of The Rules of Royalty and co-author of If This Gets Out

“I loved this book! A sizzling, funny, and sweet read set in the ultra-competitive world of the Oxbridge Boat Race. I was completely engrossed in George and Lucas’s journey from enemies to lovers. Zac Hammett has crafted a truly smashing rom-com and I can’t recommend it enough. Bravo!” —Elizabeth Drummond, author of The House Sitter

See You at the Finish Line is a charming, sexy romcom with a relatably spiky short king and a himbo you’ll fall in love with. I raced through it (if you’ll pardon the pun).” —PJ Ellis, author of We Could Be Heroes and Love & Other Scams

“If you thought the only thing Red, White and Royal Blue was missing was some strenuous activity, Zac Hammett’s delicious debut is your new favorite romance—sharp wit and crackling sensuality, propelled forward in the competitive world of juicy Oxbridge rivalries.” —Justinian Huang, author of Lucky Seed (and former Oxford exchange student)

“Reading See You at The Finish Line felt like falling in love for the first time . . . messy, unexpected, and full of hope. Zac Hammett has crafted a story that’s as sharp as it is soft, where queer boys get to be brilliant, vulnerable, and worthy of big, swoony love. It’s witty, tender, and deliciously flirty . . . I devoured it!” —Chip Pons, author of Winging It with You

“I had so much fun with See You at the Finish Line—Zac Hammett is officially brilliant. It had all my favorite rom-com tropes, as well as being funny, clever and so epically readable. I loved everything about it and can’t wait to see what Zac writes next.” —Lucy Vine, author of Hot Mess and Book Boyfriend

“Equal parts riotous humor and delicious chemistry, See You at the Finish Line is a charmingly good time. From the page-turning slow-burn romance to the brilliant moments of self-discovery and self-confidence, George and Lucas’s triumphant love story will have readers cheering until the very end.” —Julian Winters, award-winning author of I Think They Love You

“Hammett makes an effervescent debut with this enemies-to-lovers sports romance. With amusing banter between the leads and sexual tension aplenty, this diverting contemporary is a triumph.”Publishers Weekly, starred review

“This sweet, slow-burn romance will appeal to readers who loved Casey McQuiston’s Red, White & Royal Blue (2019), but the dynamic setting and crisp banter in Hammett’s impressive debut are totally his own. A swoony, unputdownable story with an unconventionally satisfying happily-ever-after.”Kirkus Reviews, starred review

“This sexy, slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers tale is full of heart, with unique twists that make this stunning debut memorable.”Booklist

"Hammett has a lighthearted voice that transfers perfectly to the page… [F]rom the beginning, it’s clear these young men will end up together, and as they move through angst toward happiness, their urgency will become yours. And perhaps that’s the best mark of a good love story.”—BookPage

Team Mates to Lovers

"🎓 See You at the Finish Line by Zac Hammett 🛶 This one made me feel all the feels! The book wants you to believe George and Lucas are unlikely friends, but as the story unfolds, you realize how similar they are — both carrying insecurities and similar upbringings. It’s a slow build of friendship that turns into something more, and I loved how natural it felt — nothing rushed. Set in the world of rowing at Cambridge University (which has way more traditions and events than I ever knew!), this story made me want to be there cheering from the sidelines. ⭐️ 4 stars 🌶️ 2 spice 🏷️ MM, slow burn, friends to lovers, sports romance, university setting"
