“[Critch’s] keen sense of observation and understanding of what makes people tick is the essence of his acting and comedic brilliance.... Critch has become a model of what makes Canada special." —Rt. Hon. Jean Chrétien on An Embarrassment of Critch’s
Known for his sharp-witted skits on CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Mark Critch uses his keen observational skills to explore Canadian identity and the new wave of Canadian patriotism.
In Sorry, Not Sorry, Critch delves into the heart of what it means to be Canadian at a time when national pride is on the rise. Examining everything from the historical decision of Newfoundland to join Canada, to the modern-day implications of the Freedom Convoy, and the evolving symbolism of the Canadian flag, he reminds us of where we came from, and of the many reasons Canada is worth fighting for—elbows up!
In chapters like “It Can Happen to You,” “I Want My Flag Back,” and “Operation Trojan Moose,” Critch uses humour and satire while referencing our all-important history to tackle serious questions about national identity and the future of Canada. He offers a unique perspective on the country's relationship with the monarchy, the cultural impact of Canadian celebrities living abroad, and the hypothetical scenarios of provincial separations.
Sorry, Not Sorry is more than just a comedic take on Canadian life; it’s a deeply personal and insightful look at the free country Critch has spent decades satirizing. Whether he’s writing as a lieutenant in a fictional American invasion or penning a love letter to Canada in the voice of Donald Trump, Critch’s essays are sure to entertain, provoke thought, and stir a sense of pride in readers.

Sorry, Not Sorry: An Unapologetic Look at What Makes Canada Worth Fighting For
"I've never read anything quite like it. Mr. Critch should be happy to work for CBC and since he's a shining light there, it explains why nobody watches. Chapter after chapter of regurgitated talking points from the liberal narrative. In short, it's embarrassing."

Boomer bust
"Critch is cashing in on the Elbows up trend and didn't put much effort into it. This guys audience is Boomers and his book is geriatric in context and style. It's a 232-page extension of one his Trump rants from This Hour Has 22 Minutes. I doubt anyone under the age of 60 has heard of Mark Critch. Everything he does is targeted at boomers. I googled the guy, he's 51 going on 73. At least he knows his audience."

Lots of laughter yet things to ponder
". He just knows how to nail down the characteristics of Canadians and Americans. He has great wit. I laughed a lot. If you need a great read over the holidays or an audiobook for that trip to see the family, I highly recommend this book!"

Sorry, it's not great.
"Sorry Not Sorry by Mark Critch had potential, but ultimately fell short of my expectations. There are genuinely amusing parts in the book, but overall, it felt rushed and incomplete. His books seem to be getting shorter and shorter. While the book provides some light entertainment, the brevity and lack of completeness make it difficult to recommend at its price point. It’s an amusing read, but arguably not worth the cost. I expect more from Critch. This felt like he just called this one in and published it to make $$ off the USA-Canada tensions, just in time for Christmas."

Great!
"There’s a bit of Canadian history, funny & relatable parts of the book that I really enjoyed. There are also some chapters that I found a little boring but overall a good book!"

Great book
"I picked this up after seeing an interview and was delighted. Critch captures the moment in Canada right now and provides a history lesson alongside some very funny stories. Well worth the read"

Disappointed
"Very one note / expected more from Mark. A lot more of Newfoundland family history would have been smart. We all get that Trump is a creep, dragged on and on and on …"
— JoeNS (1/5)
Funny and Sharp!
"Fantastic read! Critch combines hilarious stories with sharp observation to create a very enjoyable book that reminds us why we should all be so proud to be Canadian"
