"Strangers in Time's main character, Charlie Matters, is aptly named—this is a beautiful book about the things that really matter in life. David Baldacci deftly shows the reader that when you think you have no one left and the world is quite literally falling down around you, strangers can emerge from the gloom, everlasting bonds can be formed, and you can start to piece your world back together. With an ensemble of endearing and inventive characters, a quirky bookshop and a vivid rendering of wartime London, Strangers In Time is both atmospheric and warm-hearted. Ultimately it shows us that, with hope and friendship, humans can survive anything."—Natasha Lester, New York Times bestselling author of The Paris Orphan

Interesting title.

"I purchased David Baldacci latest novel ‘Strangers in Time. I put aside a book I was reading and started reading Strangers in Time and I could not put the book down, It is a wonderful story and on how children during the second world war after losing parents and family coped."

Ending fell flat

"The book was very interesting. Lots of intrigue, and discovered things about the bombing blitz in London. The only real issue I had was the ending of this book. I felt that it fell flat. As if perhaps the writer had a deadline to meet & wrapped it up rather quickly. That being said, I did enjoy this book"

Historical fiction at its best

"Strangers in Time is a compelling and captivating read from beginning to end. The story takes place in London WW2 during the blitz and you can hear the bombs fall and feel the panic of the stoic British people who keep on pushing through. We meet Charlie who lives with his Gran. Charlies is not yet sixteen but he is an old soul, kind and very street smart. Molly is returning from her evacuation in the country but her home is in turmoil and she has not seen either parent. Ignatius Oliver owns a book story and he is mysterious and you sense he is not what is appears to be. Fate has these three people meeting and their lives combine forever. It makes you wonder if they had not met what would have been their destiny. This is my favourite David Baldacci book ( until the next one ) and I hated it to end. I will miss Charlie, Molly and Ignatius and think of them often."

Strangers in Time

"What. . . an . . . . incredible read!!!!! This was not your usual David Baldacci read. it was a different book than David put out. I was engulfed with this book, I could not put the book down. The plot was like nothing I have ever read and took my attention immediately from the beginning to the very last page. A must read"

Strangers in Time - Will keep you reading and will be on your mind after you finish it.

"Strangers in Time is yet another David Baldacci book where he ventures into a new genre and writes a story that is impossible to put down. This really is a lovely book that includes a picture of how people live in war-torn times and how seemingly random people end up together in relationships that truly work. I'm so glad that I have the ability to read all of Mr. Baldacci's books and this one in particular."

Great story and characters

"I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Set in London during World War II, the characters work through tragic losses and bond with people from very different backgrounds as they find ways to survive."

""Extraordinary Epic"" The characters tear at your heart. You quickly fall in love and have great admiration for them. This book mat have been fiction but it felt so very real.

"This book by this author departs from his usual mayhem, murder, espionage, which I truly enjoy as Baldacchi knows how to weave a story. But this latest book, ""Strangers We Meet"" was a extra special book and so very well written. Kept me turning pages way past my bedtime. Loved it. I have recommended it to many, many friends and family, all have agreed with me and were sad to have finished the book. As I read I had tears, smiles, and more tears."

In War Truth is the First Casualty.

"David Baldacci, no matter what era or characters he creates, always writes wonderful novels. Strangers in time is set in London in the late years of World War II. Are two protagonists are teen children, both without parents. Charlie's parents have passed away and Molly's parents are MIA. There are wonderful descriptions of London streets and of time spent in bomb shelters. There is a genuine relationship between the various characters, some loving and caring, others exploitative and mean. Even the police are rendered with verisimilitude, which means that they don't come off very well. There's a reason there was a police reform act in England. There is enough suspense that lovers of Baldacci's more hard boiled thrillers will be pleased."
