Secrets, Podcasts, and a Past That Won’t Stay Buried

"I'm a sucker for podcast-style thrillers, and this one totally scratched that itch. The inclusion of QR codes was such a fun touch made it feel immersive and modern. The short, punchy chapters kept me hooked, and while the main character's inner monologue grated on me at times, she also had moments where she was a total badass. That said, the ending fell a little flat for me. I was expecting something more explosive after all the build-up, maybe my imagination just ran too wild with theories. Still, it was fast, engaging, and hard to put down."

A fast-paced cat-and-mouse suspense ride!

"“𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐦𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐏𝐨𝐞. 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮. ” Tell Me What You Did is a fast-paced cat-and-mouse suspense ride! Poe Webb invites people to anonymously confess their darkest secrets on her podcast, to great popularity. When her latest guest appears, Poe can’t forget him since he claims to be her mother’s murderer from years ago, but he wants more than to just confess his sins. He wants Poe to confess hers to her audience and will stop at nothing until she does. Carter Wilson creates an enthralling tale, with short chapters that are tight with tension. Once the action amps up, it does not slow down. I listened to this book on audio, and narrators Allyson Ryan and Patrick Zeller are excellent. Poe’s chapters are engaging, while the podcast transcript interludes with both narrators are captivating, feeling exactly like an episode from Poe’s show. I actually wish Patrick Zeller was in it even more; his voice captures the creepiness of Hindley so well. Wilson’s characters are all flawed, with Poe escalating between moral doubt and a total bad-ass. It was refreshing to see Poe’s father as a supportive character who is side-by-side in her quest for revenge and answers. I do wish that Kip was a bit more apart of the action, as I did find it hard to root for he and Poe’s relationship. Wilson brings everything to a dramatic and satisfying conclusion. Tell Me What You Did is an addicting tale of family and the lengths we go for them. I definitely recommend listening to it on audio, with the narrators making Wilson’s words come alive."

"Tell Me What you Did is a nail biting read that will have you holding your breath and hoping for the best outcome possible. The pace is perfect , the story is harrowing and the characters are all flawed (love it) except the dog Bailey. Phoebe (Poe) is a true crime podcaster with a twist: she gets her guests to confess to a crime. The tables are turning on Poe as she has the biggest secret of all. That's all I can say without giving the plot away but I will tell you that you will be looking over your shoulder, making sure the doors are locked and the lights are on. You simply cant go wrong with a Carter Wilson thriller. I highly recommend you get your copy and prepare yourself for a creepy but oh so good read."
