"Am I the only one who didn't like this book? It's been a year i've been trying to finish this book and I just can't . I don't like any of the characters, the story and plot is just. . . . . boring."

A Huge Fan!

"This novel in the series contained more depth of character than the previous ones I'd read. While Gamache's character became very ""inspector like"", Oliver and Ruth's character dove deep with Peter catching up. There are some similarities between Ruth and Beauvoir and this novel revealed a bit of the gentler side of Ruth in spite of her not so gentle deliver of the poem to Beauvoir. The Inspector's daughter Anna seems to be on the Inspector's mind. As for Peter, his folly is that he defined himself purely by his art. Cara's artistic recognition challenges both Peter's sense of himself and their relationship."
