In this instant bestseller, the Honey Witch of Innisfree can never find true love. That is her curse to bear. But when a young woman who doesn’t believe in magic arrives on her island, sparks fly in this deliciously sweet romantasy novel of magic, hope, and love overcoming all.
Twenty-one-year-old Marigold Claude has always preferred the company of the spirits of the meadow to any of the suitors who’ve tried to woo her. So when her grandmother whisks her away to the family cottage on the tiny Isle of Innisfree with an offer to train her as the next Honey Witch, she accepts immediately. But her newfound magic and independence come with a price: No one can fall in love with the Honey Witch.
When Lottie Burke, a notoriously grumpy skeptic who doesn’t believe in magic, shows up on her doorstep, Marigold can’t resist the challenge to prove to her that magic is real. But soon, Marigold begins to care for Lottie in ways she never expected. And when darker magic awakens and threatens to destroy her home, she must fight for much more than her new home—at the risk of losing her magic and her heart.

"Featuring a grumpy/sunshine queer romance, lovely imagery, and a distinctly cozy aesthetic, this one is a charmer." —Paste Magazine

Honey witch
"The Honey Witch is a delightful read for fans of cozy fantasy, gentle romance, and stories that blend folklore with personal growth. It excels at creating a world where magic and love intertwine, offering a hopeful message about embracing one's destiny and daring to love against the odds. Perfect for those who enjoy a magical escape with a heartfelt romance at its core."

Hufflepuff Coded
"3. 5 stars This book was a lot more different from what I expected but also one that I really enjoyed. The writing and descriptions were INCREDIBLE. It was such a visual book with the level of detail the author used in their writing and it had me in ""cottagecore"" glory because that is what the setting truly reminded me of. Even though this story is over the course of a year, this would be the perfect read for spring and summer with the setting and whimsy. This book really does seem Hufflepuff coded. It was such a sweet and wholesome read but at the same time, there was an element of a steamy romance that I really didn't expect."

As good as honey
"The love story is adorable and also a classic: a cursed love. It’s well written, with good characters. It was fun to read something with two MC being women for a change. Versa can rot in hell for all I care. But Frankie and August are adorable!! I guessed one of the plot twist pretty early on so I was waiting for Marigold to open her eyes."

Beautifully written sapphic fantasy
"This book was my saddest DNF of the year, I wanted to love it so bad. The author’s writing was so enchanting and immersive, which is what kept me going until I had to DNF’d at 45%. _x000D_ _x000D_ I felt the prose was too much and was at the expense of the pacing and plot. It also had a fairly bad case of telling vs showing. Once the initial charm wore off, I kept waiting for something more to happen and could not get into the story. _x000D_ _x000D_ While this book was not for me, I can see readers who enjoy regency/cottage core, and slower paced books liking it. I look forward to reading any future works Sydney J. Shields releases."
