Already convincing friends to get a copy

"I LOVED THIS!!! I finished it and immediately held it to my heart. It was a truly hilarious adventure from start to finish (with some tears here and there) and I was devastated when I closed it--- because I wish I could've read more and more about the characters!!! As the headline suggests I've already lent it to a friend and told several others to pick up a copy. Can't wait to reread!!!!"

Feel Good Fantasy

"This is a heartwarming love story that inspires hope and wonder. It is a fantasy novel that is so vividly descriptive the characters and the Island come to life. It is a feel good read that makes you want to be and do better."

Andrea (5/5)

a cozy read

"this book is the equivalent of a warm hug. it's cozy, hilarious, kind, and endlessly endearing. it radiates with the magic of child-like wonder. it's fantasy that i don't have to mentally prepare myself for, because the world building isn't so difficult to grasp and besides, it's mainly a character and theme driven story. the children at marsyas island have stolen my heart, but can something really be stolen if you would give it willingly? . it's easy to digest given the relatively complex themes of prejudice, discrimination, resilience, identity, acceptance, and nature vs nurture. it features bureaucratic bodies that mirror the real world, but is wrapped in a feel-good package that inspires hope for a better future in young and matured minds alike."

Jennifer (5/5)

Excellent, Fun, inclusive and such a pleasure

"fantastic book, great character development, feel good story with positive representation and inclusivity. loved this read. The dialogue was at times laugh out loud. the beautiful innocence of youth, and the depravity of those that do not accept difference."

Jules. e. (5/5)

The House by the Cerulean Sea

"This is a wonderful book, and you may have to suspend belief a bit. As someone who does not read fantasy, it surprised me how captivated I was by this story."

Kath. (5/5)

Excited to read

"Has good reviews looking forward to reading it. It has been on the TBR for a while excited to have a hard copy"

Natalie (5/5)

An excellent read

"This story is full of twists & unexpected things. Reshapes how quick the outside world can shape us, and just a bit of bravery can turn things around"

Stac (4/5)

Instantly one of my favourite books!

"As a gay man pushing 40 I've never in my life related more to a main character in a book. Excellent writing, excellent storytelling. I love when authors write queer characters without centering that facet of their personhood because we are more than our sexuality. I hope one day books like this become part of high school curriculum."
