It was okay

"Thank you to Little Brown Books for Young Readers and Toppling Stacks Tours for a copy of The Inheritance Games. Here are my thoughts! Avery is starting to figure out her future, when a random stranger invites her to a will reading for one of the wealthiest men in the world. She learns that she will inherit most of his wealth and is thrown into a luxurious lifestyle but one filled with puzzles. And she must stay alive to inherit. But his daughter and her sons want the money for themselves. This one has been on my shelf forever. Whenever there is a new YA series that is hyped, I usually buy the first one to see if it’s worth diving into! Gabe also read it last year or the year before. What drew me to this series was the emphasis on puzzles and riddles. Now, this missed the mark for me a bit and it may have been based on my expectations going into it. I was expecting tons of puzzles, and twists and high stakes. There was a bit of that, but they weren’t necessarily puzzles that the reader could solve, it was more for the characters. I also really liked two of the side characters that weren’t explored very much, perhaps in other books in the series they will get a little more screen time. And the love triangle in the book was a little weird, I guess. I found the two brothers that Avery was intrigued by both kind of bland and I honestly kept getting the two mixed up because they were so similar. So just a combo of a few things made this book not work for me. Now I think this series could have serious potential. It has blown up and I know tons of readers love it, so if you do like the sound of this book, please check it out! It may not be for me but could totally be one that you love!"

Mystery and Romance

"I loved the book and recommend it to younger adults. The writer did an excellent job at creating great characters that evoked numerous emotions. The story was very engaging and a great page turner. This is the first of 4 books in the series titled Inheritance Games series."

Molly D. (5/5)

Maggie (4/5)

My honest opinion

"You’re constantly finding out new information that keeps you on the edge, wanting to know it all. Many plot twists and loop holes that lol keep you engaged through out the book"

Nastya (4/5)

Bella (5/5)
