Absolutely Worth Reading!

"An incredible story from beginning to end! Filled with rich historical details that sparked my curiosity and brought the World War II era to life. The main character was beautifully developed, showing remarkable courage, resilience, and strength. The author’s engaging writing style kept me captivated and eager to discover what comes next. I will definitely be looking forward to the author’s next book!"

A Riveting Read

"I was so entranced by this book. The two main characters were captivating, admirable and inspiring. It honors the airmen suffered in the POW camps. What a relevant story for these current times. This Canadian author's historical knowledge is amazing. Please read this wonderful book."

Maybe I will like the next one

"The writing was good until the second chapter but I am not upset. This book would be perfect for someone else just not for me. I hope that the writer keeps writing and maybe I will really love the next book."

Riveting till the last word

"From the first page, where we find ourselves in Nazi-occupied Warsaw, The Resistance Daughter maintains a relentless pace. The often terse narrative, reflecting the stark reality of war, recounts the brave exploits of a teenage Polish girl and a young Canadian pilot as their different paths criss-cross through various notorious German POW camps. We learn history in school, but personal accounts such as this well-researched story describing first-hand experiences in vivid detail, are much more deeply impacting, and remind us about the cost of the freedoms we enjoy today. So, thank you Joanne, for writing this truly inspiring tale, worthy of being a Netflix movie some day soon."

Great title. Accurate to the plot of the book.

"This was a great read. I enjoyed the short chapters and the relatable characters. I felt this book was historically accurate and very eye opening to the hardships people faced during ww11. I couldn’t put it down and a very satisfying ending."

A gripping story from start to finish!

"Wow! It is hard to put into words the emotions this book evokes. I did not want to put this one down! An incredible dedication to those that flew with the RCAF/RAF during WWII. It is obvious how much research and passion went into this novel, to retell the hard to believe but true stories and unimaginable horrors experienced by those that served as prisoners of war."

Great Read!

"If you are a fan of historical fiction, this is the book for you. I could not put it down once I started reading it. The characters are so engaging and the story is absolutely riveting. This is a truly enjoyable read - I can't recommend it highly enough!"

Great Read/ Must Read

"A Must read by a New Canadian Author. The book is very moving and emotional for me. I know Joanne's father as a young man. The story makes me think of him and the time we spent together. He never spoke of the war or what he happened to him in the camp. My we never forget the sacrifice and live risking things they all did to survive. Some of them brave enough to talk about the painful events, and some to never talk about it at all"

Brian H. (5/5)

Tremendous story of courage and romance.

"I bought this book at the Author’s release in Calgary. I could not put it down. A great story of courage and romance in WWII. Thoroughly and accurately researched, Joanne Kormylo grips you with her thrilling writing style and will not let you go until you’ve read the story. A tremendous debut novel."

Page-turning WW2 thriller blew me away

"I read this pre-publication, through an author connection. I’ve never read a more authentic, historical thriller that transports me so completely into WW2 and chilling true events so unimaginable it’s hard to see how anyone could survive. A page-turning must read"
