A must-read for men's book clubs

"bell hooks discusses the concept of masculinity in an accessible and loving way. She guides her readers through an exploration of the male-centric society that serves to victimize boys and men. The result is an encouraging narrative of new ways of being, expressions of love, and by lifting the silence. One thing I would like to read in books that encourage men to emote and be more vulnerable is to also encourage men to be accountable and recognize institutionalized violence. In male-centric societies, violence is directed at those with less power: women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals. The challenge is that the less powerful people's safety depends on men to change. Men can change. The title is apt; it's a question of will. It's about men questioning and challenging other men."

Insightful read

An Epiphany-Causing Must-Read for Everyone

"Wonderfully accessible and thorough analysis of the role of patriarchy in harming the emotional wellbeing of men — and, consequently, how men have been starved of love. The ideas and epiphanies brought about by ""The Will to Change"" should make it a must-read for everyone, women and men alike."
