Born and raised in Newfoundland, A. Dana Colbourne now resides with her family in the Maritimes. Her love of listening to stories of her hometown, along with increasing her knowledge about Newfoundland history and folklore, led her towards her dream of becoming a novelist. When she isn''t writing, she can be found helping out with different events at her local church, along with outreach ministries in her community.

Dana has learned the greatest truth of all. In the disappointments, difficulties, and hardships of life, when we keep our eyes on the one who is our life, everything works together for our good. Coupled with a gift to write and an anointed mind, this book will capture the attention of the reader. Dana has a heart and ministry to reach the hurting and the broken, and it is clearly portrayed throughout the pages of this book.

Couched against the backdrop of a Grenfell Mission Hospital and pyrite mine in late-nineteenth-early-twentieth-century Newfoundland, Dana has brought to life a delightful story of grace, forgiveness, love, and healing. Dana’s knowledge of Newfoundland culture and history results in a story that captures the delightful and grace-filled spirit of the people of that great province. The story is entertaining, inspiring, and clearly illustrates the power of God to bring miraculous healing out of horrific tragedy.

The Wounded is written as fiction yet it captures the reality of faith, forgiveness, and romance. Throughout its pages the reader will experience the nostalgia of early-day outport life in Newfoundland and Labrador, a life that stood firm on faith in God and a strong community spirit. Grab your coffee, sit back, and let its pages open your mind and bless your heart!

The author of The Wounded has encapsulated the essence of what it means to make fiction appear as reality. Intertwined throughout the entirety of this writing are the realities of love, hurt, forgiveness, and faith in God. A beautiful underlining exhortation to put God first in every area of life and trust Him always flows smoothly through its pages.
