Doris Marie Jones grew up in Dallas, Texas and is the second child of seven. Her Mom passed from surgery when she was seventeen years old and her Dad passed from lung cancer, three years later. Doris married right out of high school and they had five children (who all are doing very well in life). She is the grandmother of eleven and great-grandmother of eleven. Doris has many awards from different areas. She has many writing awards including three Editor's Choice for poems. She was selected in Who is Who in Poetry in 2004-2005. There are about seventy of her poems published in different poetry anthologies in the Libraries under Doris M. Jones-Landrine, her second married name. September 27, 2017, she woke up with a serious nosebleed and Thomas her grandson, rushed to the hospital. When she got there her blood pressure was 223/180. Medication was injected intravenously to bring her pressure down but she flatlined (Died). The Doctor called Code Blue but before they tried to resuscitate her, God brought her back. When she opened her eyes, she smiled and said, "I've got Jesus!" They all laughed and one of the Nurses said, "She's got Jesus." Presently, Doris is doing fine.
