"Viral Odes" captures the full range of emotions that 2020 has sprung on us all. I laughed at some of the poems and was deeply moved by others. Their lightness and ease belies the craftsmanship involved in their writing, where every word is delicately weighed and meaningful. Sharron's poetry uses rhyme artfully and packs a profound punch. Think Pam Ayres, Wendy Cope and Roger McGough - poetry to enjoy, without all that hard work. I will return to this collection, not just as a souvenir of the remarkable times we are living through but for a delightful read.

Sharron writes with such warmth and humour and a keen eye for all the mundane little details that bond us all together in shared humanity. She is such a wonderful wordsmith that the carefully crafted rhymes and rhythms of her verses all fit naturally, almost conversational in tone around her subjects. There were many lines that made me smile and chuckle. Go Sharron. Five Stars. All in all, it really cheered me up.

I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I read the first poem Sharron Green had written. It is in her trademark rhyming form and sets the tone for the rest of her poetry book. The reader is taken on a journey as she navigates the trials, challenges and disappointments of Covid-19 lockdown life. There are different poetry forms inside which are masterfully written. This is not a sad book about Covid-19, you will feel hope throughout her poetry. I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Viral Odes" and recommend it to everyone.

It was a joy to read all 35 poems. Sharron Green has used different poetry styles and forms for many pieces, while the rest are free verse. I loved to read poems in different poetry styles like the Sonnet, Welsh Sonnet, Kyrielle, to name a few. Sharron has a unique voice and her poems are witty, thought-provoking and realistic. There is a certain sensitivity and sincerity which enhances the poetic appeal. There are few books, which we like to read and revisit-"Viral Odes" is one of them.
