Behind the frustration of many people is the lack of vision.
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed." Proverbs 29:18 (MSG) "Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction." Proverbs 29:18 (NIV) If you live your life according to God's plan, success is automatic. Many have not heard the message on vision. They have heard about breakthroughs, favor, miracles, etc., but very few teachings emphasize the importance of discovering why you were born. Vision is not popularly preached, yet it is foundational to living a fulfilled Christian life; it is what gives a person direction in life. Hence, when vision is absent, confusion is inevitable. That's why many people keep shouting "amen!" to things they were never called to do. We pray a lot, but a prayer that has no direction or target is an exercise in futility. Prayer is powerful, but it was never meant to replace purpose. Prayer is supposed to align you with God's plan, not be used as a substitute for it. You can't pray your way into what God never intended for you. Many of us are in the wrong place. Many are doing the wrong things. Many are running someone else's race. You will never see success if you live your life outside God's plan. Vision comes from God; it must be revealed. It is not something you assume or decide on by yourself. You don't manufacture vision; you discover it through spiritual sensitivity and divine guidance. Until God opens your eyes, you will walk in darkness, thinking you are on the right path. That is why to live by vision is to live by wisdom. Wisdom instructs you on the way to go, and whichever direction wisdom gives is God's plan for your life. Vision is not ambition. Vision is not imitation. Vision is not competition.
