Saint Joseph Cafasso inspired many priests on the road to sanctity, including Saint John Bosco. He also wrote a book on the priesthood, 'The Priest: The Man of God'. Here we have the story of this wonderful priest. He showed his future sanctity, when at age 10 he warned someone: "If you do not forgive, when you say the Our Father, you ask God to punish you." Pope Pius XII wrote in 1947 at the beatification of Blessed Maria Goretti: "There rises to Our lips the cry of the Saviour: 'Woe to the world because of scandals!' (Matthew 18:7).
