Polly Powers Stramm is an award-winning journalist, the author of several books, and the co-author of St. Patrick's Day in Savannah and Mr. Dickey's Barbecue Cookbook: Recipes from a True Texas Pit Master. She has written for several publications, including USA Today, Time, and Newsweek. A Savannah native, Stramm writes books that revolve around the history of the city and its residents. Stramm and her husband, Steve, live in Savannah, Georgia.

Janice Shay, owner of the book-packaging company Pinafore Press, is an award-winning book designer who has produced cookbooks and art, garden, gift, and children's books. For her efforts in design, Shay received the Comstock Award and the Jane Addams Peace Price for Children's Literature. She previously served as an art director for magazines such as Rodale's Scuba Diving and Atlanta. Shay lives in Savannah, Georgia.
